Brazilian Hair Company Her Imports Launches "Soul Work"

Soul Work Is A Way For Her Imports To Give Back To The Community

GREENBELT, Md., Aug. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Her Imports LLC, the largest supplier of premium Brazilian Hair extensions in the United States, is announcing the launch of our Soul Work program.

Over the past two years Her Imports has grown from a single Brazilian hair extension store in Washington, DC to over twenty stores nationally and has also opened stores in Canada and the United Kingdom.

"We're not in startup mode anymore, and as a larger company we've taken a strong focus on corporate responsibility. We've grown a large following on social media and built a strong brand, but now it's time to give back to the community that helped us get to where we are; and we're doing that with Soul Work."

Soul Work is a program that will expand over time delivering more initiatives, all with the specific purpose of helping those in times of need. To launch the Soul Work program, we've decided to help those battling cancer. Every month Her Imports is donating Brazilian hair weave and arranging the sew-in or wig making for a woman who's going through cancer treatment.

Brazilian hair extensions are worn by hundreds of thousands of women for fashion, style and self-expression, but sometimes we forget that there are other reasons as well. Cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy also wear hair extensions to help cope with a devastating time in their life.

Battling cancer is a very difficult thing. The costs alone are exorbitant and as a side effect of the treatments, many people cannot work. The emotional toll can be draining - especially for something as simple as a woman wanting to feel beautiful again. Many people who lose their hair as a result of chemotherapy experience a drop in self-esteem that affects every aspect of their life. It's times like these when people need a little extra help to get through the battle and this is where Her Imports is making a difference.

Just this month Alina Alma contacted our Soul Work program looking for support for her cousin Jessica who is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment. Her Imports donated Brazilian hair extensions and arranged an install by celebrity stylist Takisha Sturdivant (personal stylist for Kerry Washington.) The impact this has had for Jessica has been amazing and this is exactly why we launched Soul Work.
