FAU Tech Runway Startup BedaBox Sold

[Deerfield Beach, Florida] – Jan Bednar, CEO of ShipMonk, is pleased to announce that he has sold BedaBox for an undisclosed sum in order to focus entirely on ShipMonk.

The package forwarding firm BedaBox, which won a pair of business plan competitions in 2014 and was one of Florida Atlantic University’s first companies in the inaugural year of its incubator, Tech Runway.

BedaBox, which was profitable from day one, attracted interest from a variety of entrepreneurs looking to get into the package forwarding industry and from established enterprises looking to add a solid book of business with robust proprietary software. Ultimately, a suitor was found, and the firm was sold.

Jan ultimately elected to sell BedaBox because it was clear that ShipMonk, one of the fastest growing fulfillment companies in the country by revenue, required one hundred percent of his attention. ShipMonk is on track to close out 2017 with nearly ten million dollars in revenue.

ShipMonk has its headquarters in Deerfield Beach, Florida, and employs over seventy people between its three offices in Deerfield Beach, Los Angeles, and Prague.
